I put on a brand new rear Quad QHD-1 Sting Pro with a 160mm rotor last Wednesday night before I went to ride in Pisgah. It was easy to install (it came prebled and ready to go) and it worked great. The brake did everything you would expect from a hydrallic brake for the first two and a half days of my trip, but on Saturday it all went downhill and not the way I would prefer. I suffered all the way up the Clawhammer and I was beginning the decent on Black Mtn when I started to hear a little clanging. I got off the bike and I noticed the bracket that holds the brake to the frame had broken in between the two frame screws. I tried to rig it and gave up because I had the old bracket in the back of my car. As i was walking down, cursing everyone that passed me on a bike in jealousy, the brake locked up and then snapped completely off the frame, ruining it entirely. This morning I went to the shop and they called the distributor which is sending me the same brake saying that one must have been defective. So here is my question, should I give these things a try, or should I eBay these suckers and drop some extra money on some Avid Juicy of Hayes stokers?

Sorry to hear about your brake problems LBC but thank goodness they didn't fail when you were flying downhill about to grab a handful of brake going into a curve!
After having both Juicy 5s & 7s, I highly recommend them! I've never heard of the brand you purchased.
Good Luck!

Could you post some pictures of the part that broke?

It sounds like the adapter itself and not the actual brake?

I left my bike at the shop, but I'll swing by there tomorrow and take a picture of the broken stuff. The adapter broke and then when it locked up it broke the housing off of the part of the bracket that was still there.
